What you’ve described, for the most part, are all learned behavior. Just like [some] men are conditioned to think “no” means “yes”, some women are conditioned to think the same way and behave accordingly. It’s sad because we’ve lived with patriarchy for so long that some people, men and women, just don’t understand that their own lack of “propriety” puts others in danger.

I’ll say this though, on behalf of men, that women (or anyone really) should NEVER expect men to be mind-readers. We need to understand that the idea that clear communication kills mystery is a f*cking MYTH.

So, what’s a solution?

Communication. Be clear with your partner. And if clarity makes your partner lose interest in you, well, I’d say you’re better off looking elsewhere.
