May be it’s better to reword #8: They follow what’s popular, instead of what they’re good at.

This should read “They follow what’s popular instead of what they truly wish to do/accomplish.”

Let’s face it, if you’re always just doing what you’re already good at, you’re most likely swimming inside your comfort-zone bubble. That’s not always the best way towards “growth”. Growth comes from pushing ourselves to take risks, and do things that we are NOT good at, so we can actually GET GOOD AT the said thing.
